Winter Style: Necklaces

Winter Style: Necklaces

Winter is well and truly upon us, and with a change of wardrobe to thick, wooly jumpers and jeans comes a chance to update my favourite kind of jewelry – necklaces!

In Summer I like to wear statement necklaces and layer pendants together, but in Winter I prefer simple, delicate chains that I can style with a variety of outfits.

The three above are the ones that I have in rotation and will carry on wearing until the warmer weather when I can break out the crystal pendants and chokers that are gathering dust on my dressing table.

The first necklace is a silver, patterned oval complete with tiny warm golden stones dotted throughout. I stick to gold jewelry most of the time, however this was sent to me by The Lifestyle Blogger UK and I’ve really take a shine to it. It’s eye-catching and just the right size to wear for any occasion – I can’t wait to style this with a simple dress or over a fluffy white jumper for maximum effect.

The second is a very plain initial necklace and my favourite of the three. The chain is one length so I can’t adjust it and it often gets hidden under the fabric of some high-necked tops but it is the one that I wear the most and that attracts the most compliments. I think it’s a little too casual for dressing up, so I stick to wearing this at work and going out most of the time. I’ve had this one for so long that I don’t have an exact link to it, but a very similar one would be the Large Initial Necklace from Orelia London (£18) here.

The very last piece is a wonderfully delicate bar from House of Fraser – this one from Fiorelli is almost exact and very reasonably priced (£22). My favourite feature of this in the adjustable chain, meaning that I can leave it hanging low on my chest or tighten it so that it resembles a loose choker. As with the previously mentioned necklaces, the simplicity of this really speaks to me and makes it ideal for wearing alone or for layering with others if you’re feeling adventurous. I’d style this with a low-cut shirt or blouse for day wear or with a patterned dress for the evening.

So lovelies, now that you know the kind of Winter necklaces I like to wear – what do you think? Do you have certain items that you wear per season, or do you mix it up throughout the year? Drop me a comment below and let me know!

I always go for simple necklaces, not a chunky jewellery kind of person, I love these suggestions and so perfect with a cosy jumper!

I love wearing necklaces in winter too. I am favouring gold at the moment, typically with a long chain and some sort of pendant. I love all 3 that you showed in this post. – Amy
