Mother’s Day is just around the corner and is a perfect excuse to spoil the lovely mum(s) in your life. Nothing beats being served a lavish breakfast (preferably in bed) followed by a few hours of pampering, but there are plenty of other ways to show your appreciation too.
I’ve put together a little guide of my favourite gift ideas from fitness trackers for active mums, to a food box subscriptions for those that like to get creative in the kitchen – so grab a cuppa, and get ready to pop a smile on your mum’s face!
The older I get, the more I realise that PJ’s and socks really are the greatest gifts that can be given.
This ‘Paper Rose’ matching cotton set from Cath Kidston are undeniably pretty and comfortable with a relaxed cut for those days when vegging out on the sofa is all that’s planned.
The Fitbit Charge 2 is a perfect gift for all mums, whether it’s just to keep track of how many steps walked in a day or for actively keeping on top of fitness levels.
The limited edition Lavender and Rose Gold design is bang on trend at the minute, and features include guided breathing sessions, call/text and calendar alerts, auto sleep tracking, reminders to move and a 5 day battery life. If that’s not enough, there are a number of different bands available to style the Charge 2 with – both official and third-party.
Ideal for green-fingered mums, this cute gift set for hard-working hands is both thoughtful and practical.
The contents include Marigold & Organic Shea Butter hand cream, wooden nail brush, Rosemary & Lemon Thyme soap and a pair of delicately floral gardening gloves.
You can’t go wrong with a mug and this beautiful ceramic one from Oliver Bonas makes for a lovely gift. The two finger handle is strikingly unusual and each design varies slightly thanks to a reactive glazes, meaning that every mug that comes out of the kiln is unique.
Deep enough for a decent sized cuppa and finished with a metallic gold rim, I’m almost tempted to pick up a few for myself.
Meal subscription boxes are all the rage at the minute, and I really like the look of this one from Mindful Chef. Choose a subscription for between 1-4 people and you’re ready to pick from hundreds of healthy gluten and dairy free recipes. You can expect just 10 ingredients per meal with no fillers such as rice or pasta, and each meal takes under 30 minutes to prepare - great for busy, run off their feet mums!
Prices start from as little as £6 per meal with both meat and plant based options available - for even more of a bargain code TT10 will give you £10 off your first box (not an ad, promise) so you can save a few pennies at the same time.
AFTERNOON TEA FOR 2
This one doubles as a treat for you too (hurrah!) – an afternoon tea is a great way to surprise mum this Mother’s day.
Any that I could suggest would be location specific to me, however most hotels and restaurants now offer some amazing afternoon tea experiences for very reasonable prices – expect to pay between £25 – £35pp or shop around on voucher sites such as Groupon and Virgin Experience Days to get a good deal.
Don’t forget that Mother’s day is 11th March in the UK so you’ve still got plenty of time to shop and plan the perfect day spoiling the women we wouldn’t be here without.
Happy early Mother’s day to all you gorgeous mums and mums-to-be out there! You’re truly amazing. 💐
