January Reads

Is there anything better than a brand new book (complete with new book smell) just waiting to be cracked open and read?

I really enjoy reading anything that I can get my hands on – blogs, magazines, newspapers and of course books! Nothing relaxes me more than curling up with a great book and completely losing myself in a world that I’ve dreamt up as I turn the pages.

Last year I tried to read as much as possible but I let life get in the way and didn’t devote any real time to indulge, so this year I’m going to change that and start my own little book club! I may be the only member so far, but it’d be so awesome to have some of my lovely followers join me where possible so we can embark on a new journey together.

I want to try and stick to this as much as I can, so I’ve made myself a promise. Every time I read one of the books on my list, I’ll put £5 in a jar as a ‘reward’. When we get to the end of the year and I read the very last book, I should have £180 saved up that I can use to treat myself – quite possibly to more books!

At the start of each month I’m going to post a list of books that I intend to read, with a few short lines of what I thought of each book that I have completed from the previous post – still with me? Good!

This month, I’m aiming to read:

#GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso

Talking as Fast as I Can by Lauren Graham

Radical Self Love by Gala Darling

Are you planning on reading any of these, or have any suggestions for next month? I can’t wait to hear from you!

They all seem like a really good read. I’ve only recently discovered Gala Darling from the Being Boss club, she seems like a bit of a legend. I’m in two minds with the Girl Boss book. Also itching to read talking as fast as I can, I’m a Gilmore Girls fan as it is, so I’d like to lay hands on this, also, it sounds like an interesting bio.

They really do! I can’t wait to read ‘Talking as fast as I can’ – I’ve had a little peak inside and it seems to be written exactly in the way she talks so I’m SO excited about it!
I’m a good way through Girl Boss and I do like it, but i made the mistake of thinking it was a kind of ‘how to’ guide with advice and it’s not, it’s more just a book that talks about her achievements x
