Favourite Festive Scents

Blogmas Day 2 - Festive Scents

I could rave about candles and melts and my favourite scents forever given the chance, so as not to rattle on too long I’ve picked my top five scents this year. It’s no surprise that four out of five are by the amazing DW Home – these are quickly becoming my favourite candle brand. If you’ve not sniffed any yet, run to your nearest Homesense or TK Maxx and have a scour – you can thank me later!

Wickford & Co // Gingerbread

Blogmas Day 2 - Festive Scents

🎡 Oh, Wickford & Co I love you so! 🎡 I was first introduced to this brand and their candles last year by my lovely mum, and I was so impossibly excited that they brought these back this year that I had to be held back from clearing out our local Home Bargains. They have quite a variety of different scents, but this Gingerbread one is absolutely delicious and is a STEAL at just Β£3.99. I’ve seen quite a few people comment that these are better than Yankee (gasp) and I can see why – amazing smell, affordable price…what’s not to love?!

DW Home // Apple Cider

Blogmas Day 2 - Festive Scents

Apple Cider isn’t necessarily a Christmas scent but has made it to my top five regardless. It has an aroma that reminds me of sticky toffee apples and dark winter nights and I love it. This medium single wick candles promises over 30 hours burn time (I’ve yet to reach the bottom of one) and the scent really sticks around after being extinguished making it perfect for those cosy evenings in.

DW Home // Snow Day

Blogmas Day 2 - Festive Scents

Another medium single wick candle here, this time in the delightfully festive ‘Snow Day’. It has a rich and crisp scent, so strong that even unlit it still has a great throw. This doesn’t rival the lit scent though – it fills a room quickly and lasts for hours, and I’ll be truly sad when I’ve burnt my way to the bottom.

DW Home // Milk & Cookies

Blogmas Day 2 - Festive Scents

I’m not usually a great fan of sweet, baking inspired scents but Milk & Cookies from DW Home (yes, again!) is one of the tastiest I’ve smelt. It smells exactly how you would expect it to – warm freshly baked Christmas cookies with a glass of fresh, ice cold milk. It is sweet without being too overpowering and makes me crave sugar cookies whenever I light it – if any of these will put you in a true holiday mood, it’s this one.

DW Home // Peppermint Snow

Blogmas Day 2 - Festive Scents

Still DW Home (I know), Peppermint Snow is a large single wick candle from the Signature Holiday collection, with over 50 hours of burn time – the more the better! Packaged in a super festive glass jar, it has a fresh, sweet peppermint smell – and can we just stop for a moment to appreciate that spectacular glittery lid? 😍 This one is the most expensive on the list, however at just Β£6.99 it is way more than reasonable (as if I need any excuses to stock up).

  1. The DW jars look so sleek, they’ll be perfect for storing brushes and other bits when the wax sadly runs out! I did finally manage to give on a sniff in TKMaxx today, it was a peony one that was very overwhelming, but these scents sound wonderful! I love the sparkly lid too xx
