I’ve been a loyal fan of Soap & Glory’s body care products for years, but it is only recently that I’ve taken notice of their makeup. What started out as a selection of basic products has bloomed into a fully fledged makeup range, with plenty of choice.
I’ve worked my through a hefty chunk of the collection, and although I’ve liked everything I’ve tried there are three absolute favorites that take up permanent residence in my makeup bag.
Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss (£9/7ml)
If you know me, you’ll know that I am not the biggest lip gloss fan. I prefer a matte lip with a little sheer for a change, but I tend to find gloss sticky and annoying so steer clear. The Sexy Mother Pucker gloss though, is a game changer for me.
Available in 10 different colours (each with great colour pay off) it contains ‘SUPERFILL™ Lip Plumping Spheres’ and is ideal when my lips needs a little boost. Mine is in the colour ‘Rose and Shine’ which is a sparkling sheer pink and it glides on effortlessly. I can’t sing the praises of this product without mentioning the smell – a distinctly delicious chocolate orange scent.
If you’re not a fan of tingling glosses then this probably isn’t for you as it does result in a very intense tingling sensation, but this doesn’t last for very long and leaves my lips feeling pumped and nourished.
Love At First Blush (£11/each)
Upon first glance this blush is deceivingly shimmery, however it’s not as ‘Twilight vampire’ as it looks. It is pretty and colourful to look at but is super delicate – I’m used to coral and peach blush but this is brilliant for giving the cheeks a subtle glow.
“Use this blushing powder for a gorgeous rosy glow & beautifully luminous skin. The skin- smoothing emollient base and encapsulated metallic shimmer pearls deliver instant chic for the shabby cheek and a fresh lift for tired lids.”
The different colours blend well but can also be used separately – the lightest pearly white shade is a great highlighter!
The one minor downside with this is that you can’t really see it on your skin, so it is very easy to put too much on without realising it and it does make you look quite flushed.
At one point this did come in cardboard packaging that I heard lots of complaints about. Mine is in a sleek black plastic case with the regular pin-up style branding, and has the added bonus of a very decent sized mirror.
Supercat™ Eyeliner Pen Carbon Black Extreme (£6.00/each)
The Super Cat Eyeliner is an old favourite that I have written about before and for a very good reason.
I’ve tried lots of eyeliner, from gels to pencil to liquid and this one is the best one that I have found yet. The design is very similar to that of a felt tip pen with a long brush nib. It’s easy to hold and the liner is very pigmented and rich, but comes off quite easily without much scrubbing.
I’ve had this one for a few months now and it just doesn’t seem to be running out yet – I don’t store it upright as suggested but I’ve never had any flow problems with it, it just works every time!
Whether you’re a cat eye queen or new to the world of liners, I’d definitely recommend that you give this one a try.
And there we have it! My top three Soap and Glory makeup products. At the time of writing this, the range is 3 for 2 at Boots which includes all of these products – even more of a reason to treat yourself!
